you could always dual boot your vista box, use knoppix bootable cd and qtparted to resize your vista partition, then add xp (and perhaps even a linux or bsd partition while you are at it) partition. that might be an alternate solution. you will have access to both partitions (though not the linux ones) so set the size big enough for your download/upload needs.
