Have you looked through the community docs at the Ubuntu web site? I 
found this:

Those are instructions for Feisty, most likely (given the date), but may 
well work for Gutsy as well. Apparently the Linux version of LightScribe 
is available as an RPM package, which is not Ubuntu's normal package 
format, so a program called Alien is used to convert the RPM into a DEB 
package, Ubuntu's normal format.

The most common way to install programs in Ubuntu is to use Synaptic 
Package Manager to search the repositories and install. If you would 
like a quick run through of that, let me know - I'll fire up my 'buntu 
box and we can chat on the phone or on irc.
