Take a look at Debian GNU/kFreeBSD 
http://www.debian.org/ports/kfreebsd-gnu/. 

Someone there might have used the FreeBSD kernel with an Ubuntu
install.  Or you may be able to transform a  Debian GNU/kFreeBSD
install into a Ubuntu install and just keep the FreeeBSD kernel.
