What is the IP address path for the traffic:

I'm not very good at this but does your network look something like this?

Public_IP_Address => Modem => 192.168.0.* => Upstairs Router =>
192.168.1.* => Linux_machine_IP

You may have multiple NAT devices changing the IP address and you would have
to configure each one to forward the traffic.

You can also see what ports are opened using Shields-Up to scan every port
(make sure you own the network device you are testing)
