Yes, I am.  I'm still a little puzzled why scancodes treats the keys
as "dead" (there's probably a better term for this, since the term
"dead key" is used in connection with extended character sets, but I
don't know what it is), while scancodes turn up in the logfiles.  One
of many things I don't understand about input devices in Linux + X....
