I've used the atheros-based cards with the madwifi driver, and found it to be rather unstable. YMMV, of course. If you can, I'd highly recommend getting cables to each of your stationary boxes, and using wifi only for portable machines, when they are not sitting right by a cable drop. In many cases, wifi in a house can cause more problems than it solves. -- Nate Carlson <natecars at real-time.com> | Phone : (952)943-8700 http://www.real-time.com | Fax : (952)943-8500 _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota Help beta test TCLUG's potential new home: http://plone.mn-linux.org Got pictures for TCLUG?
