Really depends on what you're installing.  glibc and X/KDE/Gnome are the real 
kill joys.  If I remember correctly my 233mmx with something like 48MB of RAM 
took about 24 hours to build the initial system.  Our server boxes (AMD 
Athlon 1700+ w/256MB RAM and dual SATA hard drives) build in under 2 hours 
without X.
