Try setting the Samba box as your WINS server
in the Windows network configuration dialogs.
Might work *shrug*.

I have an issue that is strange to me and very much over my head. If I
use
DHCP to configure my network, I can connect to my shares via samba from
my
windows box. If I hard-code my ip, gatewat, subnet, nameservers etc,
I
cannot connect. Wen hard-coded, I can get to the internet fine. Just
Samba
drops out. Any ideas?
