OK, here's a strange problem. The hp compaq nc6000 running Fedora Core 1 
has a sound problem. I run kmix to look at the mixer settings while playing 
a DVD or CD and

1. The sound comes out of both the speakers and the plugged in headset. I 
want to disable the external speakers.

2. No sound comes out of the external RCA "line out" jack. (There's only 
one jack anyway, so how are they getting stereo out of this thing?)

3. The "PCM" slider control is the only one that affects the volume! Even 
the master volume control has no effect.

Any hints? I looked at the nx9010 page as suggested earlier, and this 
system doesn't have the same function key setup.
