You may be right about the 'loose lips and ships', but locks are not the
problem. There are a basic set of key codes and someone with the right
experience can get in any old time. Usually it is breaking in a cheap single
bolt in the handle( not a dead bolt ) or they can come in a window. I had
dead bolts in my old house and they busted the door frame. Also, put guards
on the windows - a nail at a closed point and at a less then 6" point open
in a double hung. Put a bar or lock on a slider and they have some things
for crank windows, also. Usually don't worry too much about the second
floor.
The best way is to put your good stuff away for the repair time - what you
can't see you can't know and be there during the work.
