[Warning: This is almost certainly a dumb question.]

Once upon a time, I used to use man -k a lot to find manpages that I
needed. But now, whenever I use man -k, it seems like the few
interesting pages I want (mostly from volume 1, but occasionally also
from 5 or 8), are overwhelmed by a flood of information about the Xt
and Tk libraries (volumes 3 and 3x). Is there any way to filter your
use of man? I poked around, but it seems that man -k is the same as
apropos, and apropos (which seems to be the same as whatis) doesn't
have a command line argument for volume number.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
R
