Sounds like a subscription.

I'm not fond of subscriptions for software, sort of like the fruit of 
the month club thing.  Being secure is a good thing. Updating for the 
sake of updating is just weird.  It's like a "keeping up with the Jones" 
kind of thing. 

If it aint broke (and it's secure) don't fix it.
