At least according to Judge Wapner, all you need to do is note the payment
is in dispute on the memo area of the check.  That way you can prove that
you were in dispute the fee before payment, thus keeping your right to
sue.

I believe that in Minnesota, you need to file with the Sec of State to sue
out-of-state corporations. Otherwise you have to file in the home state of
the defendant.
