Donald, I'll have to agree with Dan, here.  I really don't see where you
were chastised.  In fact, the only question you actually implied in your
original post was to see if there were any other newbies that wanted to
get together to try to learn linux with the help of a "mother hen".
All in all, you talked a lot, but didn't say much. ;-)

I'm going to assume that you're just in "frustrated mode" and are
lashing out at ghosts and shadows.  We'll forget you ever posted your
complaint and just keep on keeping on.  As other people suggested, you
should probably attend the InstallFest and get some hands-on advice and
help from experienced Linux users.
