Heh, another one of these people ;-)

Yes, there is that unfortunate risk with many AMD systems.  Newer
motherboards generally have the capability to slow down the processor
when it appears to be overheating, just like Intel systems.  Buyers
should check for this, though, as it isn't always there.

Of course, Minnesota isn't known for it's earthquakes, and I've never
seen a heatsink have problems that weren't operator-induced.
