Well, part of the problem is that the path doesn't actually LIVE
anywhere, conceptually.  PATH is part of every shell program, so it's
probably documented a little bit in the man page for each of them....

I don't know that there's a good source of information for someone
who's learning to use ANY of the shells.....  I even hate trying to
learn a new one, which is why I still use tcsh, although everyone
tells me I should use bash.....
