Have my laptop here so I get to use *nix some....but dual boot would not fly....nor Knoppix...not allowed to let non windows touch the network

no dual boot?  Man that's harsh!  how about vmware?  It's big $$ but
I had a chance to play with a fully licensed version recently - HA!
I made XP run Redhat, Lycoris, Mandrake and Knoppix!
