Have you configured the connection via Comcasts "Connection Wizard"? You need to do this in order to register your "modem" with them. Otherwise you will be unable to get off of their network. I had the same problem when I first setup my Comcast connection. The Comcast connection wizard is a Windows utility. I seem to remember a website that you can use instead of the wizard that will register you modem as well.
