I personally prefer Speakeasy.net which does not use Qwest, but uses 
Covad. And they are very gamer, sysadmin, linux friendly. Really good 
service and great Quake pings too!

Covad.net also has their own ISP now, but I have no experience with it, 
though its cheaper than speakeasy.
