I bought a Samsung HD a while back that was advertised as a 'quiet' model (not why I bought it). I was surprised to find that it worked - I had never thought of HDs as loud, but the difference even such a minor thing makes is striking (though I kind of miss the Hamster running round finding my data) Cheers, Paul
