I agree that it is kind of odd to have a party, but some people
will take any excuse to have a party ;).  As for contributing,
Mozilla is the only free software project I have contributed much
to lately - though only through a few minor patches and
confirming/duping bug reports. 
 
I guess the only software milestone that I would be more likely
to celebrate is woody's release.  Who knows, that might even
happen around the same time as mozilla.
