Just in case anyones in the laptop market, I passed up on the ibook for
a fujitsu lifebook p2040 and havent looked back since. :) The 'cool'
(as in hot/cold) performance of the laptop is comparable to the ibook
with a higher dpi lcd screen (1280x768, but a smaller wider form factor)
and allmost everything works (except for modem, but built on ethernet
works.)

Only caveat yet is that the small battery can barely make it through a
90min DVD without croaking. I recommend getting the larger battery for
doing long DVD playing times. Otherwise, I've easily cranked out well
over 2hr doing light things all the way past 3 hours if you turn down
the LCD backlight to a lower level. Leaving the cover closed for mp3
playing and it goes for a damn long time. :)

Also advise finding a retailer rather than working with fujitsu direct.
they seem to just ship them in from japan as they are ordered and can
take well over a couple weeks to deliver. many retailers can deliver
them right now.
