I use SNMP to monitor my (COMPAQ) novell servers with mon, a perl-based monitoring tool not mentioned yet. (I'm also running Netsaint and will be switching to it because I think it's put together better.) If you have IPX in your kernel you could monitor with that too, but SNMP is much easier.
