So I was reading on the gentoo.org page that their new kernel has all sorts of performance enhancing mods. Does anyone know when/if these are going to be merged into the main 2.4 tree? Otherwise, does anyone have a resource where I can find a nice list of the current mods available for the 2.4 kernel? Also, has anyone here installed Gentoo? Does compilation go nicely, or will I have to babysit it while it installs? Mandrake is sweet and all, but even on my Athlon 1700+, KDE and konqueror seem a bit sluggish. And Mandrake installs a ton of crap that I'll never even use. Jay
