I just installed Gentoo Linux (http://www.gentoo.org) on my desktop here at work. And I have to say, it's by far the best distro I've ever used. Unbelievably snappy, even konqueror. ntop on my Mandrake 8.1 box used about 90% of the cpu on my busy network, but ntop on Gentoo uses only about 20%. Plus, installing xine with dvd and wma support was as easy as typing: emerge media-video/xine-dvdnav emerge media-video/xine-ui I'm impressed. If you can be without your box for about 2 days, I suggest trying it out. It's going on my laptop right now... Jay
