	xfree86.org has a list of supported vid cards.

Radeon VEs and 7500s have DVI (digital flat panel) outputs (usually, AFAIK);
and are supported pretty well under XFree86 (3D accell as well), from what I
hear.  Radeon 8500s are supported for 2D acceleration; but no one has
written the 3D stuff yet (docs are available; no one has gotten around to it
yet). 

Geforces will work; some have digital outputs; and supposedly it's a pretty
good driver. it's binary-only, tho; so when you upgrade your kernel, you
have to dink with the NVidia packages.

personally, I'm thinking about buying a Radeon 7500.
