because (in spite of Florin's .sig line) some people prefer to not fix
something that isn't broken. :)

going from 2.2.14 to 2.2.20 is a good move, tho. I've seen some reliability
issues with 2.2.14 (especially on non-x86 hardware), and I had a noticeable
improvement in responsiveness and increased efficiency when going from
2.2.14 to 2.2.18. 

there's also a small bit of hassle with upgrading to a 2.4 kernel... some
associated packages need new versions. (mount, ppp, binutils, some others).
