I've just about given up on TCLUG as my questions seems to generate overly warm responses from those experts who seem impatient with a newbie's confusion. I attended the SOS Linux meeting of TC/PC last month and found a much different reception. I think it is just very difficult for very knowledgeable and well-trained individuals to remember the totally lost feeling of the beginner in a strange land, and unfortunately their impatience gets communicated, sometimes not too subtly.
