Yeah, I heard good things about that.  It got picked up by Samsung and
is now Samsung Connect [http://www.samsungconnect.com/].  I was thinking
it might be worthwhile to get that, then use Outlook as a client, but
I'd have reservations about that (mostly worrying about worms and things
that affect the client).  However, I understand that OpenMail could
interoperate with other software to filter out junk and virii.

Evolution seems to be the only thing out there for a client
application.  There are a lot of web-based things listed on Freshmeat
when you search for `groupware', but I don't know what people would
think of that..
