Thanks for the news.  I'll have to look at my install to see what's
making it such a dog.  I've been peeking periodically with 'top', but
all I see is lots of time going into idle, while the little icons that
tell me I should have a program running, are doing pointless
animations....

Anyone have any suggestions for diagnosing this?
