I had the exact same problem with my Apache config, here is what i did to
solve it:

in the Virtual host section add the following directive:
NameVirtualHost www.domainname.com

and then add a virtual host for each of the main page, the mrtg and the
rt2

it apears to me that rt2 and mrtg are not really virtual hosts; they are
more like directories of the main page, why not just use symlinks?
