Bladenc sucks. Go to r3mix.net and see for yourself. This guy has done some extensive testing on just about every mp3 encoder available. Xing is by far the worst, and LAME kicks the crap out of everything else, including commercial encoders using fraunhoffer's codec. He has lots of pretty graphs comparing the output with the original so you can see how much each encoders output differs.
