There is a big difference between not-compatible and non-supported. If
you're running Linux (or anything that isn't Mac or Windows), they're
support can't help you with problems (fairly standard policy with any ISP.) 

Not compatible would be those internal Intel DSL modems. They don't work
under Linux, period.
