Mosix moves processes to machines that are lightly loaded, from machines that are more heavily loaded. Beowulf breaks up a large problem into many smaller ones, and the nodes communicate with the Message Passing Interface and Parallel Virtual Machine APIs. Neither will do failover/redundancy. it's a matter of choosing the appropriate clustering technology for the job your trying to do.
