I have several SCSI disks on my computer, and occasionally I disconnect one or two of them (ie, Zip drive, external hard drive, etc). The problem is the device files reorder themselves if I don't boot with the same devices all the time. This means fstab is not right, and I have to mount things manually (after figuring out what device is where). Is there a way to force the devices to maintain their id's?
