Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you are asking "How do I get the
ftape.o module loaded at boottime". If so, you need to edit your
rc.modules file. (At least that is what it is called in Slackware. I
don't remember ho Red Hat is set up). There will be a line
#/sbin/modprobe/ftape
Just uncomment it (remove the #), save the file and you should be good
to go. There may be some parameters you need to add after this line for
the tape drive you are using, but if you didn't need them before, you
shouldn't need them this time. Hope this helps...
