I have RH 7.1 on a box. I installed it without a nic. After installing the nic and configuring the network everything is peachy. When I reboot (rarely) ifconfig forgets about the default gw. It is a quick command to tell it whats up, but needless. I know there must be an init file I need to update, I just have yet to find the correct one.
