Don't 'redo', just add a Linux box and more
services. He might like that.
But don't go trying to separate an old man from
his netware. It's like saying "You should get more
exersize. Let start with backflips!"

I always had to use Microsoft because my Dad owned the computer.  It's like
jumping off the end of a pier when you start using Linux.  He's always been
a little untrusting of what can be downloaded for free.  Not that I blame
him.  He has led a safe, albeit boring, computer existence.  His home
network is being served by a piece o' crap box with a copy of Novell on
there older than I am.  I told him I would redo his network for free, but he
didn't like that idea.
