OK. I know I need to take the laptop in to recieve a new cmos battery. The 
only thing is First Tech is closed until Thursday. I would really be happy to 
boot into Linux on the notebook, but it hangs on setting up the cmos clock. I 
will buy large beer for anyone that can tell me a workable workaround for 
this. Open Firmware is probably the key. Maybe a boot param to kill the 
offending process.
