Hmmm, you could possible use something along the lines of apache's x bit
hack (if you chmod the file +x, apache treats it as shtml instead of
standard html.

Second idea is set up a different directory that is all php files that and
apache treats them as php regardles of their extention (or lack there of...)

Third idea and the one most likely to work: use sed to redo all your links.
