Routers/switches usually strip out the MAC information.

However, machines connected via a hub together can usually
find out the MAC of another machine by using arp.

Subject: [TCLUG] get MAC address remotely

Can someone point me to a tool that will read the MAC address of a specific
remote ethernet adapter? I'd like to either scan my local network and
collect all the addresses, or specify a range of addresses.
