modprobe says /etc/modules.conf is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/modules.dep. It also says .../ip_tables.o:
init_module: Device or resource busy, and insmod ip_tables failed. I don't
really know what this stuff means. Should I upgrade iptables?

The ssh thing is really bugging me. I'm at my parents house and I have
been working on the machine in question via ssh from a crappy linux laptop
I can bring with me. Yesterday X would tunnel through ssh. Today, after I
changed some things in ipchains, it doesn't work.
