I tried installing RH7.1 and all was well until I tried to delete a few partitions and combine them. When I recreated the partition it numbered it last instead of in the order they are on the disk. I tried to use fdisk to renumber them but it wouldn't save it to the MBR. It would show up on screen as being in order but when I looked at the partitions again after writing it to disk nothing had changed. Is there a way to renumber partitions? Is there a different version of fdisk that will do this? Is all hope lost for my poor MBR? sim
