Packet radio is like setting up a network card with a ham radio. It allows you to use your radio equipment to join in a network on the air. A local club runs TCP/IP over it using the reserved 44.x.x.x address space to allow a gateway from this otherwise disconnected network to the Internet at large (The club is called twinslan) site is: www.twinslan.org.
