The good thing is that once you "get in", it is much easier to move around and get the job that you want. For example - I wanted to be a sysadmin, too - but I only had Linux experience. However, SuperValu took me in as a CVS Administrator / Webmaster (PHP/Perl) / Graphic Designer. I just moved up from there to my current position.
