Plextor has always been a good brand.  I've got the PlexWriter RW 4/2/20 and
it works great.  When it came time for firware upgrade on it they had a way to
do it through Linux too.  Oh and don't consider anything except SCSI if you
want to make sure it works in a multi-tasking environment.
