Thanks to those of you who have responded to my problem.

It turns out that support for the BusLogic BT-946C is included with
RedHat 6.2. I found the Bus_Logic.o module already on my system. My
PC just would not boot with the SCSI card in it though. After
monkeying around in my BIOS I just decided to try resetting the BIOS
the to default seetings and that seemed to do the trick.

After rebooting LILO came up and away I went. Kudzu detected the SCSI
card and said it configured it. I tried to run a few commands out of
a document I was directed to from a tech. support engineer at HP and
they eventually worked.

I have been instructed to take the homemade backup shell script that
someone at my company had previously written for an HP-UX system and
make that work. It is using cpio. So that is where I am at. I just
need to tweak that some and it should take care of me.

I am still going to get hold of the O'Reilly book however. I think
there is probably a lot I could learn from it.

Mike
