Basically all the installers I have ever used has prompted you to (or done it
for you) partition your drives. Rewriting the geometry on the drive effective
_destroys_ all data.

If you boot an install disk and follow the instructions, you will be fine.

All else fails bring it to the install fest. There will be lots of geek there
"like myself" who would love to help you get it installed.
